Look, up in the sky: it’s a bird, it’s a plane – it’s a UFO!
Or is it?
A UFO, or unidentified flying object, is an apparition that moves erratically, and can't readily be identified. However, due to natural phenomena such as fog, low cloud cover, or high moisture content in the atmosphere, ordinary objects such as debris, dust, or even small airplanes may be mistaken for alien craft.
How do you know that the lights you are seeing really do belong to a UFO?
• UFOs are bright and move incredibly fast without breaking the sound barrier (or setting off a sonic boom). In a sighting early in the 20th century, a pilot flying over Mount Adams in the United States reported that he could see bright objects moving past his plane, almost soundlessly, and at “an incredible speed.”
• Most UFOs have classifiable shapes. They are usually found in the shape of toy tops, disks, or saucers, and appear to be flying without propulsion. Other shapes include chevrons, spheres, domes, diamonds, cylinders, and eggs.
• Most UFOs can rapidly change direction and move erratically
• If the UFO has occupants, or has its own light, it will usually shine it down on witnesses, or make gestures with luminous signals
• UFOs usually follow moving vehicles, such as airplanes or cars
• Electronic equipment, such as radios, car batteries, or even cellular phones, may fail. Equipment failures will include stalled cars, radio or TV interference, power blackouts, compass deflections (whether manual, or electronic in aircraft navigation), and engine disruption in vehicles.
Upon leaving a site, UFOs will leave the following signs of their visit:
• Burned ground near where the UFO lands or hovers. With a Geiger counter, scientists may also note that radiation levels are higher at the site.
• Eyewitnesses or animals will experience temporary paralysis, skin burns, rashes, and symptoms similar to radiation poisoning
• Cattle and other farm animals nearby will be mutilated
• There may be crop circles, or sites where plants are flattened, and whole fields are fashioned into geometric shapes so precise, they can't be duplicated by any one individual
If you want to be prepared to witness a UFO sighting, carry a little electronic equipment with you; a manually operated camera that uses film will be most useful in documentation. If you think you see a UFO, take pictures, but don't make any signs or gestures of welcome or alarm. When you have them developed, make duplicate copies, one set to keep for yourself, and the other to hand over to an investigator, if you wish to consult one.

Many people ponder if there is life on other planets. Though none have been discovered, this doesn’t explain the reported UFO sightings and the crashes of these aircraft in different parts of the world.
One example is in Roswell which is a small town in New Mexico in 1947. For 30 years, the air force stated that this was merely a weather balloon that crashed but documents and the testimonies of those who were there confirmed this was indeed an alien space craft.
There are also incidents in other countries who also claim that there were bodies recovered from the crash site. One example is a filmed autopsy conducted on an alien retrieved from the crash at Roswell. This will show that these beings have similar human characteristics to the human body.
Another tail of UFO folklore are alien abductions. There are those who claimed to have been taken. These people would go into woods then meet a strange being in a spacesuit. The encounter always ends with the person feeling disoriented and hysterical.
Doctors who have examined such patients might think the patient got hit in the head or was drinking too much. Investigators have even made these people go through a lie detector test and sometimes they pass with flying colors.
No matter what others might say, these people still believe in a close encounter with an extra-terrestrial to this day.
Farmers in some parts of the United States claim that they had cattle mutilated. All the blood and some of the organs had been removed. These events usually happened in the middle of the night and are discovered the following morning.
Some people think a predator could have done this but there are no bite marks or trails of any kind. There is also no trace of trucks or helicopters which might point to a military experiment.
Investigators notice that there are high levels of radiation found in some of these animals and strangely scavengers haven't even bothered to eat the carcass.
There are a many recorded incidents around the world. This has truly made people think if aliens do exist and if the events seen and experienced by people are real.
Hollywood has used this as an inspiration to make some great films and televisions shows. The first could be War of the Worlds with Close Encounters of the Third Kind. Producers have also made hits such as the X-files, Roswell and the newest which is the 4400.
People can either believe in UFO folklore and believe the truth is out there or just shrug this idea off.
